The peculiarities and difficulties of an artist’s life unfold in Whipple’s droll novel… Sharp, wickedly humorous characterizations, such as “She had a face-lift that made her look like an astronaut during a launch,” coupled with absurd Florida-centric situations, are reminiscent of the works of Carl Hiaasen and Tim Dorsey. A rollicking, satirical take on fine art and the Sunshine State. — Kirkus Reviews

“Jeff's new novel is hilarious. I loved it. I'm no stranger to the decorative art interior design world, particularly in south Florida and this book had me laughing out loud, and almost a little traumatized as the hero moves through a rapidly increasing implosion of impossible painting pressures, societal angst, romantic chaos and search for meaning. Never mind solving the mystery of the kinky cherubs. Every character, every situation, rings true. The pace of the action reaches fever pitch throughout the story. You won't be able to put it down until the last hilarious denouement. I was exhilarated.”

“Jeff has crafted a compelling story of love, mystery and intrigue set in the Florida art world. He introduces a cast of colorful characters from all social and political persuasions, young and old. There is ample sex and humor that caused me to laugh out loud and there is an over-the-top party that I would have loved to attend.
Anyone without Jeff's deep knowledge of painting and the art business could not have written this novel and as a retired art museum director I have a special appreciation for Jeff's insight. Bravo Jeff!!”
